 Q. What is the difference between an Article, News Release, or Commentary?

An article is usually a help or information piece 500-1000 words in length. It will sometimes have quotes, but not always. It is used to get people interested in something on your homepage. This is called indirect advertising and is more acceptable to most editors and publishers.

A News Release with be a news worthy event about something you are doing, it will always quote the owner(s) or their associates and is usually about 500-600 words. Most editors will edit this down to fit their format.  A new web service, a new book, management changes, and other topics can be included. A News release is not news if it is a current service you are selling.

A Commentary is a first person opinion. It can be about any subject and we will accept it if it does not condone racism,  hate, or other illegal activies. It can be a biased article, but it cannot be a libleous article, such as telling unproven or undocumented fiction. However like with Political commentaries, if it is widespread information you can put your feelings in there, as long as it is your opinion, and you are not making up more stories.

Q. Why does my bid not appear?

A. This usually happens when, for whatever reason, Paypal does not send you to our confirmation page to enter your confirmation number. Please allow 2-3 business hours to complete this process and then if your bid still is not activated, you may email us at webmaster@article-publicity.com.

Q. How do I know when my E-zine is completed?

There is no ''finished'' button as such in the E-zine builder. It just creates it as you go. At any time you can link to the URL that is listed for the issue on the main My Pubs. It's ''finished'' whenever it looks the way you want it to. And it saves as it goes.

Q. How do I test the E-Zine builder without the author’s permission?

Select the articles you want and add them to the newsletter. When you select an article, it will lead you to a form to ask permission from the author. You can add all the articles you want to the newsletter. You are simply not allowed to publish the newsletter until you have obtained permission from the author(s).

Q. How do I stop someone using my article without my permission?

This is not a problem. Anyone who sees the article will have to ask your permission
before they can use it. All you have to do is say, ''No.'' If you're one of our Best Writers and have the option of preauthorizing the article for use by Publisher's Toolbox Pro subscribers, do NOT preauthorize it if you want to only use it for yourself.

Q. How do I report an offensive article?

Because we get hundreds of submissions every day, it is impossible for us to check each one individually. There is a link on every article which you can use to report abuse of our system.

Q. How do I bid for an article?

The article-publicity.com article bidding system gives authors who submit their work to us the chance to gain increased prominence on our web site. They can bid to have their work featured on our home page and also get an enhanced position within out category pages.

Articles appearing on our site are arranged in two ways:

First, they are sorted by the amount bid for position;
and secondly, they are sorted by the date they were submitted.

The home page will display the top 20 bidders in each of the following 2 groups:

Group 1: Business, Marketing, Technology, Finance, Travel and Tourism

Group 2: Education/Nature, Entertainment, Home/Family, Writing/Publishing and Personal Development/Lifestyle

The top 8 bidders in your sub-category of article are also listed on the right-hand side of every article within your sub-category. The sub-categories are

  • Business

  • Education/Nature

  • Entertainment

  • Finance

  • Home/Family

  • Personal Development/Lifestyle

  • Technology

  • Travel/Tourism

  • Writing/Publishing

The category pages display articles in order of bid amount and either date submitted or the date the last bid was made.

Choosing a Category

Whenever you submit an article or book you use, you choose a category in which to place it. You can change the category afterwards, even although you have already placed a bid. The categories are monitored, so do NOT choose a category unrelated to your article purely to obtain a good placement. We will simply move it to the appropriate category.

Bonus Exposure

If you bid at least $5 or more, a star will appear next to your article AND if you have given a picture URL in your writer profile account, the picture will be displayed beside your article to make it stand out!

The Bidding Process

Every bid lasts for seven days. If you want to increase your bid because you have been beaten then another seven day period will start running.

Whenever you submit an article, you can choose whether or not to place a bid on the article, or alternatively, from your main login screen which shows all your articles posted to our site, you can choose to bid on any article displayed there.

The current bids on articles within your category will be displayed, so that you have an approximate idea of how much to bid.

Enter your bid amount and submit. You will then be given a bid confirmation number which you should make a note of.

Click the Paypal link and pay for your bid. After your bid is successfully paid for, you will be redirected to a page where you can put in your unique confirmation number to activate your placement in the system.

If, for some reason, you are taken to the confirmation page from Paypal and you have to log in again, then you have timed out for some reason. Make a note of the confirmation page (bookmark it) and then Log in and then go to the confirmation link again.
